the pressure, the pressure of genius

It always amuses me when I receive comments from people saying how much they enjoy my blog, or how they laughed out loud at something I said. It’s not that I don’t think I’m entertaining. I get laughed at a lot. I’m just not sure it’s always in a complimentary sort of way. When it is, I always appreciate it, so please don’t take this as me asking you not to encourage my writing with compliments and adulation. Just know that it makes me feel like I have to continue to live up to the hype, and let’s face it. Sometimes my blog is boring.
To keep things exciting today, however, it’s going to be like verbal cross-training. We’ll just skip from topic to topic as though we’re all A.D.D. or something. Ok? Here goes it.
I’m kind of stressed out about this Friday’s fund-raiser. I don’t know if anyone’s going to come, or if a thousand people are going to come, and if 1000 people come, I don’t know if we’ll have any food to give them, which might make it rather pointless for them to come seeing as the whole point of them coming is to give us $10 so that they can taste the crock pot dishes we may or may not have for them to taste. Plus we don’t have any prizes to give them yet because we can’t solicit downtown businesses without the letter from the Avon people saying that we’re legit, and even though I requested said letter from my walker buddy a week ago, I’ve still seen neither hide nor tail of it. And the fund-raiser is THIS FRIDAY.
I had a dream the Jill was engaged. She also lived in an awesome old house, and she had a daughter, whom I never saw because she was in her room napping, and the door was closed.

My sister and I are going to see Spamalot tomorrow night!! Oh my gosh, how freaking awesome is that going to be?! I can’t wait.
I paid my taxes. They’re paid. I owe the state of NC nothing. In fact, I don’t owe anyone anything…except for Wake Tech. And Sallie Mae. And a little to AmEx. And Jesus, who paid it all, and to whom I owe all. Sin had left a crimson stain. He washed it white as snow.
