next up: Guitar Hero III

I sometimes don’t realize that the things I do aren’t what people generally call “normal.” For a blogger, say, to blog on most days is apparently not extremely common. I’m beginning to understand that many a blogger will only blog every few days to once every other week, or in some very sad circumstances, rarely to never. This makes little sense in my confused little “rice” head. But since I happen to be one of the few bloggers who is perhaps disproportionately dedicated to the blogging, I press on.
I’ve met several new friends over the past month or so, three of whom I hung out with this evening along with Whitney and KimSko. We watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail, which I would normally provide a link for as I generally provide links for all the movies I reference, but seriously. Does it really need one? If you do not have half of this movie memorized, I’m not sure what entertainment you find here at Onward Hoe!. Or how you wake up and smile each day, really. Ok maybe that last part was a bit too much.
Anyhoe, let’s take a poll, shall we? It’s really Whitney’s poll, and not mine, but I’ll put it here anyway. And I’ll tell you the story behind it later, but for now, suffice it to say that it came up in the car as Whitney and I were driving to Jeff’s house to watch the movie.
So here we go. Just answer “yes” or “no.” Would you be surprised and/or skeptical if someone were to tell you that I fancied skeet shooting?

Adam said,
No. I’ve best come to understand your mind as a swirling miasma of scintillating thoughts and turgid ideas.
anonymous said,
No. I know for a fact that you have, indeed, been skeet shooting.
DLF said,
No. I would not at all be surprised to learn you fancy skeet shooting. I mean, how cool was duck hunt?
Megan said,
No. I am neither surprised nor skeptical. There were several skeet pelts hidden in the closet of your room when I moved in.
Whitney said,
I’m trying to imagine how anyone will answer your question with a solid, “yes.” If it’s you, my dear BPs, who’s asking the question, people will certainly always say “no. no that’s not surprising at all.” And if it’s me asking the question, people may be more inclined to say “yes, I find that surprising” or perhaps, “I don’t know. Who is Beth? And do you always ask strangers on the street odd questions?”
I think maybe a better question is: does skeet shooting seem like an obvious activity for Beth to be involved with?
And, finally, my favorite exchange from the other night (aside from my usual favorites in [...]The Holy Grail):
“He’s got a baby’s head in a vise!”
“No, that’s a coconut.”
DLF said,
ah, the coconuts in the holy grail.
“It’s not a matter of where it grips it.”
