After lunch yesterday, Lauren, Will and I went to Quail Ridge, where I found this fabulous book that I can use for class. In fact, I’m using it twice this week alone. It’s a writing book that is broken down into topics, and it has vocabulary lists and activities for each section. It’s pretty amazing, actually, mostly because the worksheets in it are FULLY REPRODUCIBLE. I was telling my friend Rachel about it yesterday, and she too was in awe of the FULLY REPRODUCIBLE WORKSHEETS. Not that she has much of a clue about teaching adult ESL. She’s an elementary music teacher, though, so she can fully appreciate any book with FULLY REPRODUCIBLE WORKSHEETS. In fact, I’d be willing to bet (and I am not much of a gambler…not with money anyway) that any teacher of any subject in any age range will get at least a little excited if you say those three magic words to them. I took the book in this morning to share it with my coworkers, and at the mention of FULLY REPRODUCIBLE WORKSHEETS, there was all sorts of twittering and perking up. Try it. Just go up to a teacher and say, “Hey. How would you like a book with teaching tips and fully reproducible worksheets and activities?” Just be careful to run quickly when you must reveal that you don’t actually have a book of this nature. Because the teacher will beat you up for teasing him or her in this manner.
