I Totally Look Like…

There’s a website Lauren looks at sometimes where photos of people (usually people, mostly celebrities) are placed beside photos of other people/things/animals/household items/characters that they resemble. And usually, they’re quite accurate. Well, yesterday morning, one of my students told me that sometimes he thinks I look like Kate Winslet. I started thinking about all the people I’ve been told I look like throughout my life, and I decided to put together a few side-by-side comparison photos for your consideration. Here we go:
What do you say? Do I look more like my mom or my dad?
The first time I remember anybody telling me I looked like somebody else, I was on the playground at church. I don’t remember who said it, but I was told I looked like this girl from the Babysitters Club TV show. I don’t know her name. I never watched that show.
Then, when I was in 7th grade, maybe 8th, everyone thought I looked like Chelsea Clinton. I never saw the resemblance, personally. I think it was just the first time anyone our age had been really famous AND had curly hair. In the minds of a bunch of pre-teens from WILKESBORO!!!!! who’d barely ever left the state (if that), we were practically twins.
In college, I had long hair, just like Felicity. Then I cut it short. Just like Felicity. I’d never watched the show before, but suddenly everybody thought I was copying her…and that we looked exactly alike. No one said I looked like Keri Russell, mind you. I looked like Felicity…as if there was a difference.
This website has a pretty cool little gadget that will analyze a photo of you and tell you which celebrity you look the most like. With this picture, it suggested Portia de Rossi. I think I’ll allow it, but I have to say. I like my cheekbones better.
Aaaaaaaand here’s the latest. I see it a little bit, but just a little bit. Maybe if Kate were wearing a men’s winter hat AND a plastic Dancing With the Stars New Year’s top hat…
What do you think?

Totally your mom. I also got Chelsea Clinton and Felicity! I was not happy about CC though because it was during her most awkward formative years. Neither of us had discovered RAVE yet.

I felt the same way about being compared to CC. And I TOTALLY used Rave in college! The spray gel. It was the best.

Wow, I can see both your parents in you. I think I would say you looked like whichever one you were standing beside if I saw you in person.
Hm, not sure on the celebrities, but that is me, I have never been able to see it. The only people I have ever thought REALLY looked like a celebrity is my brother-in-law Ben and Topher Grace. They look creepy alike. Like people ask him for his autograph.

I can actually see how you resemble all of those people in some way or another but I don’t quite care about that because I TOTALLY WANT YOU TO DO A BLOG POST ON HOW YOU DO YOUR HAIR!!
I’m serious. I want a full tutorial, with recommended hair products. Seriously.

I just did the picture upload website thingy, and 6 of my top 10 celebrity matches were Asian. Ummm……

DLF,
Yeah, depending on the picture, I got a lot of different people, including one Asian woman and Angelina Jolie. Uhhh…But I can totally see you as a Russian model!
Danielle,
I’ll work on that. Thanks for the suggestion!!
Amy,
Is Ben your sister’s husband or Mike’s brother? If he’s single, let’s discuss this look-alike-iness further.

DLF, I too was pegged for an Asian woman. Then Selma Blair several times. Then some really ugly old dudes, but that was when I had on my glasses, no makeup and a fat-face angle.
Amy said,
married to my sister

I was so relieved that no one had posted yet on the Baby Sitters Club name. It’s Stacey McGill. Yeah. I know all their names.
