Sigh. I love vacation. Mine was really stop and go, but when I was stopped, I was really stopped, and when it was go time, I was bookin’ it. For reals. WILKESBORO!!!!! was great fun, though, just as I predicted. Most of the girls at the shower were friends from high school, so it was like a wee reunion. With cake. Good times.

We also played a game, that I think Susan had invented, called “Kiss the Bride’s Ass.” She had a Pin-the-Tail-on-the-Donkey donkey taped to the refrigerator, and she’d printed out a picture of Emily’s fiancĂ© and taped it to the donkey’s behind. Then, blind-folded and with our lips slathered in ruby red lipstick, we were spun about and pointed in the general direction of the fridge where we had to find the bride’s “ass” and kiss him. It was very entertaining, and I won some note cards. I’ll post pictures as soon as I get them from Susan, but I didn’t take any myself. Sorry.

Anyhoe, I got up early yesterday morning and drove back to Raleigh for the 11:30 service at church. I had lunch with some friends, and then I came home to veg out for a while before going to Michael’s for supplies to make some Christmas presents. Yes, I said make. It could be good, or it could be bad. We’ll see. Well, you’ll see too if you’re lucky enough to get one of them.

Oh, and I’m now three days meat-free, and I have to say – I don’t miss it at all. I’ve still been eating dairy, though, which I’d also like to give up eventually, but going without cheese is going to be really hard. Again, we’ll see. And I’ll post more about that later, including why I’m trying this at all. Basically, it’s starting to gross me out, but there’s more to it than that. But that’s…another post.

Off to start the day! You know, Monday’s really aren’t that bad when they don’t begin until 11:30.
