as if I’m not random enough

In response to JBeau‘s and Lauren‘s posts, both entitled “8 Random Things About Me,” I’ve decided to compile an 8 of my own. I’ll try to do new ones that aren’t already included elsewhere in this blog. This might prove to be ridiculously difficult because, well let’s just face it…I talk about myself a lot. I’m not sure what there is that you don’t already know if you’ve been reading Onward Hoe! for a while. But here goes:

1. I have never maintained a live plant.
2. Sometimes (read: more often than not) I have very strong urges to touch people (in a completely appropriate, non-sexual way), but I almost always refrain for fear that it will weird them out or be interpreted as flirtation, which it is not.
3. I have never eaten lobster, crab or most kinds of fish.
4. Some day, I want to write a travel book.
5. I can jump rope really well (like really well…ask me to show you some time).
6. I maintain fairly regular contact with friends from every part of my background (preschool-present) except for Camp Cheerio. This actually really bothers me, because those were some fun times we had together. Every now and then, I try to Google a girl I was friends with (we were in the same cabin) for several summers. Her name was Leslie Wallace, and she was from Texas. She was very tall and had red hair. She also had two older sisters, Carrie and Betsy. If you know her, please help me to get back in touch with her.
7. I am habitually tardy.
8. I don’t like to drive. I like the freedom it allows, and I love roadtrips, but it tends to stress me out, and I don’t like to be stressed out. I wish Raleigh had a better public transit system. I’d be all over that.
