A Christmas Haiku Series
Posted by beth on December 25, 2008
Food in my belly
So much food in there, it hurts
And lots of presents
Still in my PJs
Haven’t brushed my teeth all day
I know that is gross
Santa came last night
Brought me M&Ms and socks
Cushy, comfy socks
Text messages to
All my friends to say, “Merry
Christmas!” were returned
Watched season one of
30Rock all day. Yes that’s
Right, I said ALL DAY
What musical is
In my head now? It’s Rent. “Hap-
py birthday, Jesus.”
Cleaned out some old crap
Found a bunch of old pictures
Facebook, here they come!
Did I mention that
I got lots of TV shows?
Lesson planning? Ppsshhhhh.
Special thanks to my
Mom for cooking vegan meals
Though they all eat meat.
I found two pairs of
Nail clippers in my bedroom
And some fairy wings
I found the pickle
Don’t ask – it’s German. And mein
Schleim ist dickes Fließen
(Yeah, apparently,
it’s “Fließen,” and not “flossig
like I’ve always thought.)
He does not consi-
der equality with God
something to be grasped.
No, he lays it down -
His fellowship, his oneness -
to join us on earth.
God who made words can’t
speak. He’ll walk on water, but
first, he’ll learn to walk.
Creator of the
Universe is created
In wee baby form
God who made Mary
Relies on her to protect
Him as he grows up
He sympathizes
Fully now having lived the
Life of a human
He knows pain, sadness,
Happiness, family, struggle,
Love and rejection
Wonderful Counsel-
lor, Mighty God, Everlast-
ing Father is born
Merry Christmas, y’all!
As the day comes to a close,
I hope it’s been great!
