Blogging and Jamming With Old Nasty
Posted by beth on August 6, 2009
My family has had this blanket forever and ever amen, and it’s been to every picnic and outdoor event that I can remember. The thing is probably older than I am and has only been used in recent years for padding furniture in a moving truck, but in the past month or so, I’ve reinstated it for outdoor concerts and such. The only problem with it is that it’s completely falling apart and can therefore not be laundered properly lest it disintegrate entirely. So it’s getting grosser and grosser with every use, earning it (very rightly) the name Old Nasty.
Now, sometimes JBeau refers to himself as Old Nasty, saying with great pride, “I’m old. I’m nasty. I’m OLD NASTY!” No arguments here (j/k, JBeau).
Well, I am currently sitting on Old Nasty next to Old Nasty while we wait for Coldplay to come out and serenade us until we are feeling very makey-outey (as I’m told Coldplay do). Not that we will have anything to do with each other’s makey-outiness. I’m just sayin’ is all.
Anyhoe, I stumbled upon a Roses in Lumberton, NC today and felt immediately swept back to 1991. I just sort of wandered around with my mouth open. Then I went in the bathroom (which I think had not been cleaned since ‘91) and closed it hastily. I wanted to tweet about it, but apparently twitter was attacked today. Sad face.
Ok, still waiting for a band to play. Expect a recap tomorrow along with 2 very funny ESL stories. Peace out. Viva la Old Nasty!!!

WHY were you stumbling around in Lumberton?

I went to Lumberton to pick up Emily and Magnolia and bring them back to Raleigh. Makes total sense, right?
