Hi there,

As the co-creator of "EiEi Yoga" (as well as the character of Rasta the Rooster) I want to say that it was my legal responsibility as the holder of the copyright of the video to protect it from copyright infringement. We were shocked and saddened by the 1,500+ vicious comments that appeared on EverythingIsTerrible.com's site.

On the basis of this badly edited clip, my husband of 25 years, Max Thomas (a/k/a Yogi Oki Doki), a much-loved and highly respected teacher who has been bringing yoga to the world for 35 years, was called a pervert and a pedophile hundreds and hundreds of times. And a beautiful black child he was teaching was referred to as "that little nigger."

I petitioned YouTube to remove the video from the web to stop the flow of violent energy around a project that was produced out of love, joy, and utter silliness. I think that any person who saw their mate being so derided would have done the same thing.

And don't worry. "EiEi Yoga" will soon be back in DVD form, and you'll be able to see the entire 38 minute show, including Rasta the Rooster's Reggae rendition of "The Breathing Song."

That is ridiculous. Hey, rumor has it that primitive forms of golf and soccer were played in China in the 1700s. I guess we should be scared of those too.

The PE teacher at our school advised parents that she was going to be introducing some yoga exercises to the kids in our elementary school. Some conservative Christian parents complained that yoga came from a non-Christian tradition (Hinduism/Buddhism) and that their children were prohibited from taking part in those PE classes. So, apparently, there are more restrictions than age to yoga activities.
