I’m too hot

Ok doctors and nurses and hypochondriacs and people who watch a lot of ER and Grey’s Anatomy. It’s time to diagnose me!! Some of you are immediately going to jump to an entirely incorrect assumption that I’m pregnant, so before you even start in with the “buts,” just hear this: THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY ON EARTH. So get over that one and try again. Here are the symptoms:
- This morning, I was kind of queasy, but that passed after I ate breakfast and drank some water.
- I can’t stand the thought of drinking anything other than really cold water.
- My stomach still feels a little uneasy, but it hasn’t affected my appetite thus far.
- When I arrived at work (and on the way there), I noticed that my fingertips were sort of tingly.
- Around 10:00, I got very cold. I put on a sweater.
- Around 11:45, I felt feverish in my face, but I was still comfortable in the sweater.
- Now I just feel sleepy, and my stomach’s kind of…off.
I haven’t eaten anything new or weird or different, I’ve had plenty of water today, I haven’t done anything out of the ordinary. I just feel weird.
A Chinese student suggested that I have what she described as “a heat problem,” and she suggested that I drink some nasty Chinese herbal concoction that made another Chinese student dry heave right there in class. I’m a bigger believer in just sleeping it off, which means I’ll be going to bed around 9:00 tonight, but what do y’all think?
I’m curious about the heat thing because I’ve noticed in the past that when I sit with my computer on my lap for a long time, the heat from it makes me queasy. And I did spend several hours yesterday with ol’ Buddy here on my legs. And then I ate too much dessert. Plus, I spent the weekend at the beach, where I got a little pink. Could all these things have combined to make me feel so weird today? And what’s up with the finger tingling?
Aaaaaaaaaaand diagnose.
