and now for something completely different

I can’t believe I haven’t told y’all this yet (well, some of you know). Anyhoe, my fabulous, most wonderful, amazingly brilliant and beautiful roommate got ENGAGED!! Yep, yep! Memorial Day weekend, she was down at Caswell, where she’d met her beau one year earlier, and he had it all set up so he could take her for a walk on the beach to a secluded spot with a romantic little table set up with roses and candles and a shiny, shiny diamond ring!! It really made me feel like all the work I’d done describing the rings she liked (via extraordinarily precisely detailed email) had totally paid off, and if she decides to have bridesmaids, I’ll be one dress closer to that girl in that movie about all the dresses. I feel like I’m forgetting one, but so far, I think I’ve only been a bridesmaid in four (with a fifth coming up in July!!), so Brookie’s would make six, and then I’d only need 21 more. Don’t worry, gals. I won’t make you all wear your bridesmaids’ dresses in my wedding. I love you too much for that. Yay weddings!! God help me, I love ‘em…as long as I either have a date or don’t need one, which is really the beauty of being a bridesmaid. You don’t have to find a date because you wouldn’t really see him anyway. You’re busy all day, and then you just hang out with the groomsmen or other friends and dance the night away or skedaddle after the cake’s been properly cut, distributed and devoured. You might even have time to drive an hour back home and go out to the movies with your prom hair.
