Crock-Pot Cookoff AND Cookies for Dough!
I hope you all know about this by now, but just in case, I’m doing an Avon Walk for Breast Cancer NEXT MONTH! This means two things:
- I have just under four weeks to raise another $900.
- I have just under four weeks to complete three months-worth of training.
Riiiiiiiiiight. Well, I think the money is doable, and as far as the physical part goes, I’m going to do my best, raise some money, raise some awareness and have a BLAST in our nation’s capital.
In order to raise the money that we need, The Rack Pack will be hosting a fund-raiser next Friday, April 18. It’s a crock-pot cookoff, wherein crock-pot chefs will pay an entry fee of $15 and bring their creations to Vintage21, located on the corner of West and Hargett Streets downtown (in the building formerly known as Jillian’s). Tasters/voters will pay $10 at the front of the line and receive a ballot. They’ll taste each dish, and they’ll vote for their favorite. The winner will receive a prize.
For dessert, we’ll have cookies for sale.
Someone will be available for accepting donations.
Now, depending on how many “prizes” we get donated, we may also have a silent auction and/or raffle, so really, there’s something for everyone.
So I have 3 questions for you:
- Would you be interested in entering the cooking competition?
- Will you come and eat?
- Would you be willing to help out by baking/packaging cookies to sell?
If you answered “yes” to ANY of those questions, you are awesome and will go down in my book as such. If you answered “yes” to either #1 or #3, please let me know. If you have any questions of your own, let me know that too.
If all of this “event” business is just too much for you, but you still want to contribute, hit up my website, and make a hefty donation. Or a meager donation. Every li’l bit helps.
