title pic photos forthcoming

Posted by beth on March 10, 2008

Ok, so “our” internet comes and goes, and right now, it’s mostly gone, so I’ll have to hit up the ‘bou soon to upload the pictures from Saturday night’s “Lauren and Beth’s Bodacious Birthday!” I have to say…they’re pretty fabulous. I can’t wait for y’all to see the cupcakes.

But for now, I’ll just share with you (for those who weren’t there) the scavenger hunt document. For those of you who were there, I’m sorry. You’ve already seen this. But you can still participate by giving your testimony as to how ridiculously awesome it was. Here we go. This is what the photo scavenger hunt participants received along with a camera for each team. They departed at 5:00 p.m. EST.

Here’s the deal. You have until 8:00 p.m. today to arrive back at Beth’s place with double prints of your photos. There won’t be any penalties for tardiness, but the first team back will receive a 5-point bonus and the judging will take place at 8:30 sharp. You can get your photos developed anywhere you want, but Target on Lynn Rd. is a good one. It’s cheap, it’s nearby, and it’s open.

     *Take photos of the following:
1.   your whole team in space that should be too small for your whole team (bathroom stall, closet, phone booth, etc.)
2.   a person taking a picture
3.   someone eating doughnuts
4.   someone walking through a drive thru
5.   someone jaywalking
6.   a street sign with a funny street name (points awarded to the funniest)
7.   3 team members being pushed in a shopping cart
8.   a team member hugging a stranger
9.   a team member giving a stranger a noogie
10.  the biggest pile of dog crap (photograph with something else for perspective)
11.  a fireman in uniform
12.  someone crawling out of a manhole
13.  a human pyramid
14.  a man in a dress
15.  someone doing a cartwheel
16.  someone doing a pole dance
17.  the cutest baby
18.  a team member helping a stranger fold his/her laundry at the washeteria
19.  your team acting out a scene from a movie (3-point bonus if it’s so good that it doesn’t require explanation)
20.  your team with someone wearing formal attire

Scoring: You may receive up to five points per item.
A score of 1 indicates that the photo has captured an item, but it is difficult to distinguish because of lighting, focus or perspective.
A score of 3 indicates that the photo has captured an item, which can easily be seen by the naked eye.
A score of 5 indicates that the photo has captured the item, the item is clearly distinguishable, and the people in the photo are enjoying obvious merriment.
For items 6, 10 and 17, points will only be awarded to the team with the best entry. The winning team for those items will still be subject to the scoring system and will receive the number of points earned based upon the scoring rubric.
You can receive an additional bonus pointfor capturing more than one item in one photo (on top of the 5 possible points for each item). For example, if you capture two items in one photo, you get one bonus point. If you capture three items in one photo, that’s two bonus points.

So there you have it. If you need a fun way to kill 4-5 hours, and you have 8-30 people, this will do. I didn’t even play, but I had a blast determining the winner. And now I have a keepsake photo album full of pictures of cute babies, dog crap and my friends pole dancing all over town. Thanks for playing, guys!! Your merriment was obvious to all.
