the new farewell

January 18th, 2008

Dan was telling us this story at break today, and we were cracking up. I wanted you all to get in on it too.

A student showed up in my class the other day, who I recognized from my old site, where she used to be a student. She knew me as well, and so I didn’t even think about the fact that she might not have belonged in my class. I’ve tested so many people, there’s no way I can possibly remember who’s tested out already and whatnot. So she was there until break, and then it came up that she’s not supposed to be in level five. She’s supposed to be in level SEVEN. So after break, Dan came up to get her and accompany her down to Louise’s class.

They were chit-chatting their way down the stairs, and before he left her, Dan waved and said, “Enjoy Louise,” in response to which Rosa waved and said, “Enjoy Louise!” You know, like “See ya!”/”See ya!”

We laughed for a full five minutes. So spread the word, the new way to say good-bye is to say “Enjoy Louise!” Whitney and I were talking about how we could possibly create a whole new word here…injolaweeze! And generations into the future, people will wonder how/when/where this word came into being, and WE, friends, WE WILL KNOW! This is history in the making, I tell you! HISTORY!!

Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in recorded history (well, technically I guess it’s the 2nd), I bid you…

Injolaweeze!

(Or enjoy Louise, for those of you who can only handle one change at a time.)
