The dirtydish needs YOU!
If you keep up with me at all, you know that I love to write (duh), and that I’ve been writing/editing for an online magazine put together by some of the women in my church pretty much ever since I moved to Raleigh in 2005. It’s staffed entirely by volunteers, who work and have families and volunteer elsewhere as well, and over the last year or so, we’ve lost almost our entire staff to burnout and/or lack of time. So it’s down to me and two other ladies, one of whom will be entirely out of commission once she gives birth approximately one month from now.
I really want to be able to keep this magazine going because I see a lot of value in it and the community/support it provides for women as they share their lives with each other. But it’s too much for two people with otherwise full plates to handle.
We’ve had several folks ask us what’s going on, why haven’t we published anything new recently, is the dirtydish still in operation at all. And that’s great because it shows us that people still want to see it continue, but in order for it to continue, we need help. Lots of help. We mainly need article recruiters, editors and writers. But we need lots of them. The more we have, the less each one will need to do, and the longer they’ll be able to do it without getting burnt out.
